We talk all things Jewish deli with Don Parkin, owner of Goodman's Deli in Berkeley Heights, NJ. Goodman's has been serving pastrami, corned beef and brisket since 1943. Don has owned the deli for over 10 years and it has been in Berkeley Heights for 20 years. Don brought more authentic dishes to the menu and also his passion for Chicago style hot dogs. While the dining room is currently closed because of the pandemic, Goodman's is still serving customers via pickup and delivery.

Today we checked in with Jon Gjoni, the owner of Pastrami House in Berkeley Heights. With the dining room closed, they are offering curb side pickup as well as delivery through multiple platforms. They are also giving free junior sandwiches during lunch hours to the hero first responders.

Jessica’s Cafe | Fine Dining in a Casual Setting

This week, we venture to Plainfield to meet chef Arman Saqe, owner of Jessica's Cafe. Arman has a vision to bring fine dining but in a casual setting. He and his sous chefs have many years experience as a team at one of NJ's best restaurants Lorena's in Maplewood. The menu is largely Italian – Neapolitan pizzas and pastas – though there are specials that are French inspired including a foie gras pizza. They also offer brunch on the weekend with classics like eggs benedict and french toast; and I assure you there will be a long wait in the coming months to get a table in the dining room.
